ROADRUNNER “OCTAVE FUZZ WAH FLYING MACHINA!!! by Dr.No and Dave Catching

Hey there!!!
Doc here!

I have started a new exciting project with Dave Catching (earthlings?, gnarltones, Mojave Lords, Eagles of Death Metal, Queens of the Stone Age, owner and resident of the famed Rancho de la Luna studio in Joshua Tree California).

OFWFM 3

We are currently creating our RoadRunner “Octave Fuzz Wah Flying Machina”!
What?…….Yes “Flying Machina”…….Does it fly?…..Yes it also flies!!!….other than it looks cool, why would we add wings?

OFWFM 1

The RoadRunner is a “old school” Fuzz Wah Octavia.
It has the options:
(Right front side)
Volume, Intensity and Fuzz.
(Left front side)
Octave on/off switch
Wah capacitor switch (3 options)

The Housing is done with red and blue “Flock” techniques what is an old method to give it a peach skin feel and look. It is also used on old vintage wah’s and fuzz wah’s back in the days. It aslo has a very cool new design, and the front plate and foot-rocker plate are made of high grade 3D rubber to prevent slipping.

OFWFM 2

We took the RoadRunner “Octave Fuzz Wah Flying Machina” for a test flight at the Pinkpop festival 2015 with the Eagles of Death Metal, where it turned out to be perfect!!!

OFWFM 4
(Dave’s EODM board….)

OFWFM 5
We now are working on details and techniques (and more fun and cool gadgets) to finalize and realize the RoadRunner “Octave Fuzz Wah Flying Machina”.

The RoadRunner “Octave Fuzz Wah Flying Machina” will be released in a very spectacular way end this year, around november. The RoadRunner will be made in a very limited run.

Stay tuned…..
More soon…..

Gary Arce from Yawning Man “Got Fuzzed By Dr.No”!

Gary Arce from Yawning Man joined the Dr.No artists club!

Gary Arce

Gary Arce

Gary Arce is a virtuoso on guitar, playing a very own sound and style that is far from what every one is called Stoner Rock. In fact in my opinion it has nothing to do with that. He developed his own signature sound by playing dark almost jazz alike riffs and meditative songs. Early 80’s he started The Breed what later developed and mutated in Yawning Man.

Strangely enough  hey released their first album much later in 2005 while in the mean time Kyuss covered their song Catamaran on The Circus Leaves Town in 1995.

Gary Arce played and performed together with Alfredo Hernández, Mario Lalli, Dino Von Lalli, Larry Lalli, Gary Burns and Mike Montano.

Gary uses the “More Gary” because “It sings, and it sounds dark” he told me.

Mario Lalli from Fatso Jetson “Got Fuzzed By Dr.No”!

Proud to announce that Mario Lalli (AkA “Boomer”) from the band Fatso Jetson and Yawning Man joined the “Got Fuzzed By” artists.

Mario Lalli also played and plays in bands like “Across the River”, “Yawning Man”, “The Sort of Quartet”, “Rubber Snake Charmers” and “Doom Quartet”.

Mario Lalli Fatso Jetson

Besides being a touring performer, Mario “Boomer” Lalli is known because he initiated the now legendary “Generator Parties” ( using a generator with voltage regulator, instruments, mouth to mouth advertisement, and a light bulb)  in the Low Desert near Joshua Tree and Palm Springs California, that ended in the early ’90’s. Many bands where inspired by these parties and local performances. Leaving a scene and reputation behind that later crossed and inspired the rest of the world.

Now Mario Lalli (together with son Dino Lalli, Yawning Man’s Gary Arce and Tony Tornay) is touring Europe and ends the tour with a recording/perform session in France with his Double Doom Quartet. Also Alain Johannes, Dave Catching, Joey Castillo, and Hifiklub will be collaborating on this project.

I was invited by Mario to come to a show because they appreciated my work.
As a mutual fan of Fatso Jetson, I had seen the coolest show since a long time and met some really nice folks. I brought some effects as requested and tried some before the show.
Mario now uses the PowerDriver MkII as his main effect. WAUW!
